YICLA - Let's Do Science! 

Yes I Can Learning Academy – Science Exploration enables participants to engage with various branches of science in an enjoyable setting. Students conduct science experiments and follow the scientific method as experiments progress. At the end of the 8-week program, participants host their own science fair, applying the methods they've learned.

Age Groups: Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6

 

YICLA – Welcome To Hollywood! (Tech)

Yes I Can Learning Academy – Introduction to Movie Making, participants learn film-making basics and editing. They create a movie from inception to completion, including storyboarding, filming, and editing. Projects are shared with families, culminating in a movie screening night after the 8-week program.

YICLA – Senior Robotics Exploration (Tech)

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Introduction to Robotics and Programming offers an introductory course for those curious about robotics programming. Participants work with diverse robots and coding methods to grasp fundamental commands for robot function and actions. This fosters an understanding of programming joy.

Age Groups: Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6 

 

YICLA – Robotics Olympics (Tech)

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Robotics Olympics challenges participants' programming and algorithm logic. Weekly challenges demand completion within time constraints. Points earned can be exchanged for prizes at the end of the 8 weeks.

Age Groups: Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6

 

YICLA – Video Game Design (Tech) *Coming in January 2024*

Yes I Can Learning Academy – Introduction to Video Game Design enables participants to create video games from scratch. They design characters and use If and Then Statements for game creation. The 8-week program covers various game types, including mobile and computer games.

Age Groups: Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6 

 

YICLA – Journey Through Animation (Tech)

 Yes I Can Learning Academy - Journey Through Animation stimulates participants' imagination through stop-motion technology. Using materials like Lego and Clay, participants crafts props, and characters to be used in their animation. Raw footage is edited with SFX and Voice overs, resulting in their own projects after 8 weeks.

YICLA – Introduction to Engineering

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Introduction to Engineering presents participants with challenges solvable through simple machines and innovations. Utilizing provided materials, participants work individually and in teams to creatively address problems.

Age Groups: Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6 / Grade 7 – 9

 

YICLA – Lets Build It! ** NEW **

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Lets Build It!  Presents an opportunity for students to utilize their imagination and create different themed constructions every week. Our instructors will help capture the moment and aid the students in creating a simple photo slide show of their creations. All students will bring home their video slide show on their very own YES I CAN USB! This program allows students to learn how to construct with different materials and learn basic video editing at the same time.

Age Groups: 4-5 Year Olds / Grades 1 – 3 / Grades 4 – 6

 

 YICLA – Digital Comic Exploration!  **NEW**

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Digital Comic Exploration Presents an opportunity for students to utilize their imagination and create their own comic book! Our instructors will provide all materials to help students create their projects. Learn different photography angles and storytelling to create their own digital comic book! Add sounds, Voice Overs, SFX and much more to their digital comic book. All students will bring their comic back home on their VERY OWN YES I CAN USB

YICLA – Let’s Invent! **NEW**

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Let’s Invent presents an opportunity for students to invent or innovate to help solve every day problems. Students will be given a problem and will go through the invention process to solve the given problem. Students will learn how to Identify the Problem, come up with ideas, creating a prototype, testing and revision and how to market their program. Our instructors will provide different materials for students to use weekly for their inventions or innovation projects.

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Introduction to Robotics and Programming offers an introductory course for those curious about robotics programming. This program is designed for the younger participants and focuses more on exploring different ways to control the robot and complete challenges.

Age Groups: JK/SK / Gr 1 - 3 

 

YICLA – Lego Creations! ** NEW **

 Yes I Can Learning Academy – Lego Creations!  Presents an opportunity for students to utilize their imagination and create items and structures with Lego! Each week, students will be provided a theme, and they will use Lego to create the structures. Our instructors will take photos of the structure and create a slide show for each student to take home on their very own YES I CAN USB at the conclusion of the session.
